This is personal for me. My uncle spent most of his life unable to live openly as a gay man because of society and his parents’ beliefs. After their passing, he finally felt free to embrace who he was and found the love of his life - his first true love. Two years later - at 60 years old, they married, becoming the first same-sex couple to wed in their city in Germany. I’ll never forget the pride and joy in his eyes that day—or how much it meant to him to finally wear a wedding ring. He was a sweet loving man, who loved doting on friends and family. I am so happy he got to finally find love and belong in his marriage. I wasn’t making perfumes back then, but I wish I had created a scent to bring back that moment—the happiness, the love, the triumph. That’s what I hope to give to every couple I work with: a way to preserve the magic of your day forever.
